Art Ambassadors

The international dimension of the BNL Media Art Festival (Rome, April 13-17, 2016) is evident in the five embassies in the event network: Chile, Ecuador, France, Spain and the United States.

The Chilean Embassy will also serve as locations for the event.

The Chilean Embassy (Viale Liegi 21) will host Chilean artist Felipe Aguila. Ambassador Fernando Ayala, Cultural Attaché Antonio Arévalo and Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will participate in the event, scheduled for Thursday, April 14 at 4 pm.

Felipe Aguila’s works analyse existential conditions by combining biographical data and personal experiences related to one’s roots and comparing these to daily society and collective life. Aguila transforms daily data with poetry, moving gradually away from reality and giving rise to oneiric visions.

instagram-accademia_spagnaThe Real Academia de España in Rome presents PROTOCOLS AND VENETIAN DERIVATIVES, a new exhibition by Antoni Muntadas. The inauguration will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 7 pm in Piazza San Pietro in Montorio 3.

The project, which was first presented in 2013 at the 55th International Art Exhibition, the Venice Biennale, and subsequently at the 72nd International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art, is the result of a long research project on Venice, where some of the works were developed.

The exhibition is composed of a series of photographs entitled “Venetian Protocols” that focus on architectural details in the city and highlight the peculiarities of not living on dry land. Presented and projects this summer as part of the 72nd International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art, the film narrates an unexplored, mysterious and fascinating side of Venice, characterized by a nearly complete lack of humans that normally fill its alleys during the daytime.
