The choice to co-produce the Media Art Festival was presented by Luigi Maccallini, Retail Communications Manager, BNL Group BNP Paribas, at the last Maker Faire, giving rise to the BNL Media Art Festival that will be held in Rome on April 13-17, 2016 [see news Digital Artists and Makers].
“It all began with the convergence of vision and values shared by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and BNL and their focus on change, innovation and the future,” explains Luigi Maccalini on Linkedin. “In a changing world, even art is change; the desire to narrate the present with an eye to the future. It’s the beauty that is born of vision and inspiration. It’s a spark that can generate infinite connections. BNL believes that art can reach everywhere. Only by sharing great ideas, can we reap their full potential.”
The initiative follows on the success of last year’s event with artists, curators, young men and women, creative professionals and experts from around the world involved in a contest in which art and new technology meet to give birth to new trends and markets. New generations will be attracted to art through labs, conferences and master classes. Moreover, over 70 national and international artists will showcase their installations and performances in seven prestigious locations. The BNL MAF TV will stream the most interesting events. You will also be able to follow the event for five days on Twitter at @BNLMAF with hashtag #RomaMAF.
“The exploitation of new forms of artistic expression and technological contamination represent a catalyst for development and growth. BNL, like the entire BNP Paribas Group, has always been active in the field of art, culture and innovation,” Maccalini writes.
“In this context, the bank is the financial partner of art, a connection between artists and entrepreneurs, funding artists, makers, young talents and start-ups and their projects. Throughout the entire event, BNL will be present at MAXXI with the “BNL Mestiere Impresa” (BNL Trade Enterprise) Desk, the first Italian business space that allows members to join a network and develop ideas and business opportunities in collaboration with other entrepreneurs, both in Italy and abroad.
Moreover, on April 13 at the MAXXI, experts from PerMicro will illustrate and provide information on these two tools to support Italian business. PerMicro, an Italian market leader provides solutions for sustainable micro development. BNL is a shared holder and industrial partner of PerMicro.”
