Alessandro Fonte (Polistena, Italy, 1984) and Shawnette Poe (Warsaw, Poland, 1980) are long term collaborators. Since 2009 they initiated a series of diverse collaborations ranging from site specific installations to abstract actions in specific territories of investigation. They live and work in Berlin.
In their collaborative works they explore the possibility of defining a contemporary rituality with a focus on the continuous collapse of reference points in the society.
Fonte&Poe have presented their work in
art institutions and festivals throughout Europe, North America and Africa. Among the institutions with which they have collaborated: 21st Triennale of Milano, Fondazione MAXXI Rome, Fondazione Pino Pascali, Museum of Architecture Ljubljana, Chiostro del Bramante Rome, Onassis Center Athens, Raw Material, Dak’Art Off Dakar, Staedtische Galerie Bremen, National Gallery of Macedonia.
