Technology for Art

Samsung, a global leader in world electronics, has been investing in culture and the promotion of art for many years. This year, Samsung will be a partner of the BNL Media Art Festival.

Samsung has developed two projects two divulge Italy’s art and artistic heritage that will be presented at the MAF: the Samsung Culture Heritage Monuments Arts Project (SCHEMA) for the promotion of Italian artistic heritage and the Master Course in Digital Humanity that will be held at the “Ca’ Foscari” University of Venice.

In the audio clip, Anastasia Buda, Corporate Citizenship Manager, Samsung Electronics Italy, explains three crucial elements of Samsung’s presence at the BNL Media Art Festival.

The SCHEMA project aims to promote the conservation, discovery and enjoyment of Italy’s art and artistic heritage through a process of digital education.

Project SCHEMA will be presented on April 15 (10-12 am) at MiBACT as part of the meeting on “Young Artists and Creativity Workshops” [the event will be streamed live]. Maria Gabriella Giardina, Technical Solutions Specialist, will participate on behalf of Samsung.

The first level Master Course in Digital Humanities is organised by the Department of Humanities in collaboration with the Lausanne École Polytechnique Fédérale and the support of Samsung. The course aims to train humanities and computer graduates in the field of Digital Humanities.

The course will be presented on Saturday, April 16 (10-12 am) at the MAXXI “G.L. Buontempo” Room at a round table on “Media Art as an Opportunity for Youth.” Participants include Anastasia Buda for Samsung and Paolo Eleuterio for the “Ca’ Foscari” University of Venice.

Samsung will also present awards to the winning projects on Saturday, April 16 at 12:30 am in the MAXXI “Spazio D.”
