The Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) is one of the most innovative centres for artistic education. It is an Academy of Fine Arts that focuses on new creative media, especially digital media, and offers programmes and workshops on various aspects of media art. As such, it is a natural partner for the BNL Media Art Festival and especially the commitment of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
As part of its vast schedule of events, RUFA has been selected as one of the locations for various activities. On Friday, April 14, it will host a workshop entitled “Internet of Things,” coordinated by Interaction Design Professor Massimiliano Dibitonto. The workshop will focus on the extension of the Internet to the world of objects and places.
Also on April 14, RUFA will host a sound art performance by the E.T.E.R.E. Collective (see full programme).
Moreover, RUFA has contributed to the Festival’s artistic programme by providing a work by one of its sculpture and visual arts professors, Davide Dormino, for the exhibition that will be held at the Maxxi on April 13-17.
And that’s not all. RUFA cinema and photography students will document the event, a service that the academy provides to its partners, based on the professional quality of its students, who participate in prestigious productions and collaborate with eminent cultural institutions to complete their university projects and apprenticeships.
“Our mission is to train young create artists that have a command of new technology,” explains RUFA Director, Architect Fabio Mongelli, in this interview with Elisa Amorelli.
